Shortmint turns a topic into a finished short video and can post it to your social accounts. This page explains what we collect to do that, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Account details. Your email address and login details, so you can sign in.
What you make. The topics and scripts you type, images you upload, and the videos, captions and listings we generate for you.
Connected accounts. If you connect YouTube, Instagram or Facebook, we store the access tokens those services give us, so we can upload on your behalf. We never see or store your passwords for them.
Basic usage data. Server logs such as IP address, browser type and the pages you open, used to keep the service running and to stop abuse.

How we use it

To make your videos and show them to you.
To upload or post them, only to accounts you connected and only when you or a schedule you switched on asks for it.
To fix problems, prevent abuse and keep free-plan limits fair.

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We send your topic or script to the AI services that write scripts and generate images and voices, so they can make your video. When you publish, the video and its listing go to the platform you chose (YouTube, Instagram or Facebook). We share nothing else, except where the law requires it.

Google and YouTube data

When you connect YouTube, we use YouTube API Services only to upload videos and read their basic statistics for you. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. By connecting, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. You can remove our access at any time from your Google account permissions.

How long we keep it

We keep your videos and account data while your account is open. When you delete a video or your account, we remove it from our servers within 30 days. Backups expire on their own within 14 days.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can download or delete your videos at any time, disconnect any social account, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it. Email contact@video.com and we'll reply within 30 days.

Children

Shortmint isn't meant for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes? We'll tell signed-in users before they take effect.
